Anne of Green Gables
This project was all about fulfilling my childhood dream of becoming Anne of Green Gables from the books by L. M. Montgomery. The outfit was constructed after the Anime version of Anne in her town clothes. It includes a dress in the style of the 1870s made from heavy linen, a cotton apron and a set of light cotton underwear, consisting of a peplum top and a pair of bloomers. The dress on its own has a wonderfully timeless cut and fits seamlessly into a more contemporary setting as well.
Because when you are imagining, you might as well imagine something worth while.

…a stretch of road four or five hundred yards long, completely arched over with huge, wide-spreading apple-trees, planted years ago by an eccentric old farmer. Overhead was one long canopy of snowy fragrant bloom. Below the boughs the air was full of a purple twilight and far ahead a glimpse of painted sunset sky shone like a great rose window at the end of a cathedral aisle.

‘Dear old world’, she murmured, ‘you are very lovely, and I am glad to be alive in you.’

Like I mentioned earlier, the whole reason for the existence of this dress was a personal cosplay project for Dokomi 2018. So here is a picture of me as Anne.
